The last General Assembly of the WIMBY project marked a special moment for the whole consortium: a final opportunity to come together, reflect on what we have built over the past three years, and look ahead to what lies beyond the project’s formal end.
This final meeting was not only about wrapping up tasks and reviewing outcomes, it was a celebration of a collective journey. Partners shared the final progress across all work packages, discussed the project’s long-term impact, and reflected on how WIMBY’s tools, frameworks, and methodologies can continue to support wind energy planning, social acceptance, and stakeholder engagement across Europe.
The atmosphere was both professional and human: a mix of final evaluations, future-oriented discussions, and genuine appreciation for the collaboration that made WIMBY possible. From the early research phases to the on-the-ground workshops with local communities, from the development of the interactive map and 3D tools to the final Results Pack, the project has demonstrated the strength of interdisciplinary and international cooperation.
The General Assembly also provided space to discuss exploitation, sustainability, and legacy. Partners shared ideas on how WIMBY’s results will live on in research, education, policy support, and practical applications, hoping that the work carried out does not stop here.
This final GA was not just the end of a project. It was the confirmation of a strong network, shared values, and a common commitment to shaping a more transparent, participatory, and sustainable future for wind energy.
