How the WIMBY stakeholder engagement strategy supported the platform design
For the design of the interactive map and general forum, a methodology inspired by the design thinking approach was used. Design thinking is a process to empathize with users, confront assumptions, clearly define problems and come up with creative solutions to test.
Through workshops, iterative feedback, and ongoing dialogue, the design and functionalities of the platform have evolved to reflect real needs and perspectives. The information gathered from stakeholders’ interviews served as a foundation for creating the first design of the WIMBY interactive map.
All the information gathered during the co-creation workshops and user
interviews, was both valuable for the design of the WIMBY interactive map and for the general forum. Additional steps in the user flows were developed to analyze the potential links between the interactive map and general forum.
